Short Personal Presentation

My name is Joan Castillo Font, I am sixteen years old.

I am not very good at sports, but I like it anyway, specially cycling, roller skating, scooter, and
Karate, but instead of sports, in my free time I prefer other hobbies, like drawing, reading or
playing guitar.

I like specially rock and metal music, and it subgenres, like grunge, and punk. My favourite
music bands are: Nirvana, Green Day, Slipknot, Linkin Park, Fractal Dimension, The
Offspring, Mägo de Oz, Rosendo and System of a Down.

Now, I am at first of baccalaureate, in the Joan Oró Highschool. Even though I am not the
best English speaker, I like the lenguage, and I really think I will need it for my future,
because I want to travel around the world and it is one of the most international lenguages.

As I sayed, I am not very good at English, I don’t have a very good pronunciation, although it
is not bad either, and I am not very good with grammar, I think. Despite this, on the other
hand, I think my best point at English could be the vocabulary, I know enough vocabulary to
understand myself in English with other people even abroad.

My expectatives for this blog, sincerely are not very high, I like it and I think it is useful, but
my problem is that last year, a big part of the course it doesn’t work well or I don’t now what I
have done, but teacher cannot see my posts, so my expectatives are that this course it will
work well and also I will do my best.

Koers in Alcoletge

Last month, there was a concert of Koers in Alcoletge. I prayed to my mum to go and the best was that she also knew about the concert for the mayor party.

When she informed me that she accepted my proposal, I asked her to go there with Pau, and both of us agreed. Pau was very happy for my invitation. We met at eight o' clock and we went to "Gran Món" chinese restaurant and we had dinner.

Later, we went to Elisis camps and we looked at the stalls. He bought a blue bag to put a flag cause he took the communist flag for the concert. I don't know why.

In the end we went to the concert that was later than twelve at night. The best song was "Im from Ghetto" but in general all was amazing. My friend said: "I met here a friend". He also said to me he only had three euros and his friend made him an offert and he sold him the album "Unbroken" for three euros when it really costs twelve euros. He drank a lot of lemonade, but strangely, I dind't want it, I was fine and I wasn't thirsti. When the concert finished, we returned home and went to sleep. The next day I couldn't woke up until twelve at midday.

My Opinions

  • What is my best writing? Why?

Biography: HYPATIA OF ALEXANDRIA, because I like to search information and investigate
about people that has became idols for me, (like Socrates, Kurt Cobain, Niccolo Machiavelli,
Hypatia of Alexandria, Friedrich Nietzsche or Edward “Thach”, for example), and that writing
activity was an oportunity for demonstrate me my know-how of one of this people (Hypatia,
as I said before).

  • What is my worst writing? Why?

My guide to Lleida, Catalonia: sorry but I hate doing guides, in my opinion, it’s a waste of
time, it could be a good activity for people who are really interested on guides, so I
recommend this writing to be optional, to prove my writing skills I prefer doing film reviews,
for example, I think everyone is different and everyone has some ways better than others to
demonstrate their knowledge.

  • What is my best oral activity? Why?

Chindogu, because I had to be creative and I really enjoy it, and the audio with Xavier,
because we did it fast and good (in my opinion, of course) and I laughed a lot while we were
writing the dialogue, I think it was fun.

  • What is my worst oral activity? Why?

I didn’t use to like to record my voice or my face and less to upload it in a blog, (except the
audio with Xavier, I really enjoyed it), so the audio I had to do with Pau I didn’t like it,
because we didn’t knew how to work well in group that time, and it was really stressing for
me to record me or my voice.

  • What is the best final product of projects? Why?

I think both: the chindogu, and the article in the Oro’s Guardian. As I said before, I think it was
a original and creative way of learning the Chindogu activity. About the dossier of Oro’s
Guardian, I found it too boring sometimes, I have to be sincire, but the final product, to create
and article, (I had the luck it has to be about Tech and Science) I really liked, I also had to be
original, and also I had the luck of working with Adriana, she is very hardworking and has a lot
of imagination. I think it’s essential to find ways to work on the creativity and imagination of
people, it was an excellent one, so thanks, teacher.

  • Point out positive and negative aspects of creating your blog. Justify your choice.

Ok, I don’t like too much to work with computers, I sincerely prefer taking a handout, a pen
and let imagination flow. But I haven’t found anything but about working with Blogger, when I
had problems at the beginning, with help, I could pass it, and maybe, it’s good to use less
paper. But as I said, I haven’t found any problems, until the big problem: when you stopped
being able to see my blog, I dind’t did it anything different, but you can’t see it, and now,
neither has achieved to solve this problem, and I said a big problem because it is an
important mark for the course. Any way, if we solve this problem, I won’t find more problems
about working with blogger.

A For And Against Essay of “Easy-To-Use Chopsticks”

If you ever have used chopsticks and you tried to eat rice or other types of oriental food like noodles, you will have realized how difficult it is to take them well and use them without your food falling. The Marc Bañeres and Pau Roca’s invention is an attempt to facilitate this situation to not oriental people, who would like to use it but they don’t know how to.

They have put together the two sticks to a wood clothespin. This greatly facilitates the fact of taking them without being moved and so it will not be so difficult for you to take the food to put it into your mouth.

For good or bad, you will also have to develop a certain ability to take the smallest food, such as rice grains. In addition, although it may seem or be very useful, the chopsticks also have a small defect: it are made of fine wood are very delicate and at any moment if you do too much force with the chopsticks, it could break, separating from the clamp.

In conclusion, I think this chindogu is also a great invention because, despite it has a simple design, it can be very useful as well, and the problem of its fragility can be solved simply by making it from another more resistant material, such as aluminum, for example.
